Clinic in Arcata. ODCHC also has Full Time opportunity for a Family
Nurse Practioner or Physician Assistant at our Humboldt Open Door Clinic
in Arcata. All positions require current CA licensure.

Site Administrator - 1 F/T at our Eureka Community
Health Clinic and state of the art TeleHealth and Visiting Specialist
Center. This integral position administers, directs, and plans
clinic activities which include: management duties of clinic staff,
provider and patient relations, community partnering, overseeing
administrative/financial operations, and clinic quality improvement
initiatives. This position requires strong leadership and change
management skills. BA in health related field or business. A minimum of
three years administrator experience is required, preferably in health
care setting.
Registered Dental Assistant - 1 F/T Eureka. Provides chair-side
support and prepares patients for procedures. Takes, develops and mounts
X-rays. Accurately files patient dental information into charts. Dental
Assisting Degree or 2 or more years of dental assisting exp and current
California RDA registration is required.
Billing Clerk - F/T Crescent City. Inputs patient charges and
bills insurance. Provides clerical and data entry support to the
Administrative staff as needed. Intermediate computer skills and two
years general office experience. Knowledge of CPT/ICD coding desirable.

REDWOODS RURAL HEALTH CENTER
JOB TITLE: Physician
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Staff Physician works under the direct supervision of the Medical
Director and the general direction of the Executive Director. The Staff
Physician provides primary health care services to Redwoods Rural Health
Center patients. This include most aspects of family medicine and
services for which the physician is certified/credentialed to perform.
The Staff Physician, by direction of the Medical Director, may be
required to provide clinical supervision to the Center’s nurse
practitioner and/or physician assistant either through a formalized
collaborative agreement or as mandated by the Medical Board of
California.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Respect and abide by the mission and mission statement
• Diagnose and treat routine medical problems as part of regular clinic
responsibilities
• Complete crisis assessment as needed for the clinic to assess danger
to self, danger to others and/or grave disability.
• Serve as a consultant to the Dental and Behavioral Health Divisions
• Provide in-services to staff on medical issues as needed and requested
by Medical Director.
• Accurately and appropriately completes medical record documentation.
• Accurately codes all services for legal, clinical and payor
compliance.
• Deal with clients of all age groups and all kinds of medical problems.
• Attend regular chart and case review sessions with all concerned
clinic staff.
• Maintain medical staff privileges at Jerold Phelps Hospital
• Attend staff meetings, training, workshops, and conferences as needed
and directed by the Medical Director.
• Assist with community outreach efforts.
• Knowledge of professional and ethical standards of care.
• Complies with the terms of the employment agreement.
• Knowledge and adherence to safety and conduct rules, other regulations
and the policies and procedures of Redwoods Rural Health Center.
• Assist with disease collaborative as needed
• Assist with the development and implementation of medical policy.
• Ensure that medical protocols and procedures are followed.
• Participates in all peer review processes pursuant to written
procedures.
• Provide direct on-site supervision of all mid-level practitioners
according to standards.
• Participates in the division’s CQI quality assurance program
• Responsible for identification and referral of high-risk patients.
• Responsible for assuring that laboratory services are performed by
properly trained staff.

• Participates in CQI and HRSA 330 mandated performance requirements.
• Participates in off site meetings and community events as necessary
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy from an accredited medical
school.
Successful completion of a family practice residency from a U. S.
accredited residency program
LICENSURE AND CREDENTIALS
• Unrestricted California Medical license
• Unrestricted DEA license.
• Current CPR (ACLS) certifications.
• Board Eligible in Family Practice or other relevant specialty
EXPERIENCE AND/OR SKILLS REQUIRED
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of the principles and practice of modern medicine as related
to public health organizations and community health programs
• Comprehensive understanding of current social and economic problems
pertaining to public health and their impact on healthcare.
• Demonstrated Leadership Skills
• Demonstrated skills in culturally sensitive human interactions
