CA Budget Includes $100 Million for Health Workforce

Gov. Brown’s FY 2016-17 budget includes a $100 million appropriation to support and expandmedical photo primary care residency programs and help recruit providers to practice in medically underserved areas. Absent this funding, California primary care training programs would have faced nearly $60 million in cuts due to the pending expiration of federal and private foundation grants this year.
