The Del Norte Community Health Center closed its A Street facility and opened in its new location at 550 E Washington Blvd. in Crescent City, CA Tuesday, June 26, 2007. The new building has a beautiful design and is three times larger than their previous facility. The increased capacity creates greater access to medical and dental services for the residents of Del Norte County. The new facility operates with 19 exam rooms and 6 dental operatories which house 10 medical providers and three dentists. The health center also contains two medical assistant offices, five behavioral health/case manager offices, and four administrative offices.

In addition to the offices, the Wellness Center houses a telemedicine room which allows the providers to connect to specialists across the state. Telemedicine will allow patients to receive specialty care without taking costly trips outside the area. The ample space has allowed the wellness center to house the Area 1 Agency on Aging. Funding for the new facility was provided by a State of California Community Development Block Grant and the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Development program. The grant required the facility to be in operation by June 30th or risk losing their funding. On August 7th, the Wellness Center held its Grand Opening with Representative Thompson and Assemblywoman Berg in attendance.
